I was on NPR!

A while back Day to Day had a story about military wives and the surge at Ft. Riley, Kansas.  I wrote in a comment that basically said that my husband had been twice, missed important stuff, and that if you said we had to stay or all their sacrifice was for nothing, then I didn't think you understood what service was about.  They left out the last part (someone else made the same point, but more imaginatively), but they read part of my comment on the air.

More Good News

Almost two years ago, I bought a BOB Ironman stroller. It cost a fortune but my parents got it for us as a Christmas present and it has been worth every penny. I use it all the time. About two months ago a spoke broke and then about two weeks ago, another spoke broke. I was sort of irritated because it was so expensive and I wrote the company asking where/how I could fix it. They had me take pictures of the broken stuff (there was also some rust on the front wheel) and I sent it to them so they could process a warranty. I then got an email back saying that they couldn't ship to PR (no big surprise there) but could they ship the wheels somewhere else in the continental US.

Wheels? Seriously? I was expecting some coupon for a bike shop to pay for a repair and totally dreading it. I'm so excited that I will be getting two and maybe three new wheels! They are all quick release so it's just a matter of pulling off the old ones and putting on the new ones. This just makes me more excited to buy the double stroller when the time comes.
