Feeling Better

I am finally feeling better (although still congested) but Ellie still sounds like a baby pug. So, we have skipped the gym for another day. We went for an extra long walk to make up for it. I miss the gym, though. I don't really miss the exercise but I do miss the chance to get up and out of the house and do something productive. I suppose we should go grocery shopping but that is my least favorite errand.

I realized last night that Joe's friend who is coming to visit arrives tomorrow night. Since the house looks like a bomb exploded, I suppose I should be working on that today. Also, we are supposed to leave for the Outer Banks on Sunday. I want to go grocery shopping for Thanksgiving back here and take our groceries with us. Maybe I will put off today's trip for a day or so when I am more organized and can do home and holiday shopping at once.

I hope you feel better, Stephanie. What did the pedi say about Ellie?

This will sound familiar to you. They have no idea what's causing it but they aren't worried. I'm still a bit uneasy about it but she really does seem fine. If it continues until her next well-baby appointment (2 weeks) I will talk to her regular pediatrician about it.

Generally, red blood (I'm assuming this is coming not with her urine, but from her rectum, if I'm wrong in that, disregard) isn't scary. If she were bleeding internally from her colon, etc., you would be seeing black (and not wicked dark brown, but actual black). If it's red, she probably has a small fissure from a difficult bowel movement, and she'll be just fine. I didn't want to say that before you went, because I didn't want to discourage you from going.

I always figure though, my doctors get big money for what generally amounts to 10 minutes of their time, and I will call when I darned well please, and would much rather call when I don't need to, than be afraid to call, and find out later I really should. I decided early on to remember they work for me, and not the other way around. I bet you this is nothing and would wait as you are, for my well-baby visit, but if you become uncomfortable waiting, get insist-y, again. Let the doctors' mothers worry about the doctors. :)

Health for Ellie and peace for you, Stephanie.

Glad you're feeling better.

Wanna come help me with my lab report rather than cleaning? Could be fun!

Sounds exciting! I would come if just for the company. You could play with Ellie and I could do the lab report. It would be a good change of pace for both of us. :)

Whereabouts? We will be on Emerald Isle, but Joe and I are taking a day trip up to Cape Hatteras.

A friend and her mom are renting a place in...Nags Head, apparently, from the address!
