Root Canals

So I guess I didn't mention it here, but about a week ago, Joe reinjured his knee and managed to take a bite out of the inside of his lower lip while doing physical training with the Army. He's still waiting on an MRI, but it looks like his knee won't require more surgery. However, the injury to his mouth has turned out to be more serious than they thought. He needs three root canals. He gets one on Tuesday, one on Wednesday and one on Thursday. Doesn't that sound like a fun week - a root canal a day!

Poor Joe! I'm sorry about the root canals. But I'm happy that the knee won't need surgery. They're tricksy joints.

Three root canals? That's crazy! Poor thing.

Oh, ow. You are gonna have one drugged up man around.

Butbutbut - why can't they put him under general anaesthesia and do all three together? That's what they did with mine, since I can't get shots.

I know - I feel bad for him. I'm guessing that either a) we are in the army and therefore tough or b) the dentist doesn't want to be working that long. Joe says he doesn't mind, but if I say "one of my invisible friends suggested..." he might at least ask the dentist.

Yes, please. I had three root canals and seven teeth that needed old fillings removed (metal composite from the sixties, to which I am allergic), plus a temporary crown and one wisdom tooth extraction.

Screw being tough. Unnecessary suffering is a really stupid idea. Besides, not economically viable for the dentist, either, and pisspoor time and resource management.
