Second Life
Oct. 20th, 2006 01:52 pmSo, you know how you can never have heard of something and then, overnight, it's everywhere? Well, I read about Second Life in The Economist while on vacation, then I read about it on my flist, and then I think it was in the NYTimes. SO, I decided to check it out.
I'm pretty unfamiliar with RPGs and I can hardly keep up with all my roles I have now, but I think this is supposed to be different. Anyway, I was disappointed. They had a notice that said that they are a bit overwhelmed right now and I can forgive that. But, everyone I met was either lost or wanted to know my age/gender. (Dude, I'm breastfeeding a baby right now. Maybe not the "hot" you were looking for.) Anyway, if the island was filled with buffistas, maybe it would be cooler. I don't know if I'll go back.
