Life Update

1. Joe and I walk/ran on Monday morning. I had some pretty painful pelvic aches on Monday night (left over from pregnancy) and muscle soreness remaining into today. So today we just walked. Still, I'm happy I managed to run the flats and downhills without breaking in half. My future running partner had her baby on Monday. She's in much better shape than I am. She's hoping to be running again in 2 weeks. I think she's crazy but maybe in a month? We will see.

2. I talked to my lawyer contact today on the phone. I'm going to a meeting tomorrow with her and someone else. This group is trying to organize citizenship classes and the lawyer wants me to be involved. Except for language stress, I'm totally qualified for this. Things are in the very early stages but it will be good to be involved. Probably won't generate any money but still good for contacts and resume stuff.

3. So, between now and tomorrow I have to pump enough milk for Frisco while I'm at the meeting. I'm a teeny bit anxious leaving him but I know he will be fine.

4. The lawyer also mentioned possibly handing off some of her paying clients to me. Probably won't ever make a lot of money with that but it might be what I'm looking for.

5. In the motherhood department, I've been trying to make sure Frisco gets more regular nap times. It just seems like I'm always waking him up to take him somewhere. And I'm trying to start his bedtime routine at 7 instead of 8 like Ellie. It worked for a while to put them to bed at the same time but he is so cranky and crying that last hour. He really needs to sleep earlier. So, now I'm doing his bath and stuff at 7, nursing, sleep, and then getting Ellie around 8. 8 is a little late for her because I'd like her actually in bed at 8 but we will fine tune as we go.

6. It's nice having the dogs back. They have been swimming in our pool every time I come home. The roomba seems a bit overwhelmed but I'm hoping it will get back on track.

7. One last thought staying at home seems like it would be so...relaxing. I mean, all day to just do what you want. But it is not like that at all. Today I got up at 6, got everyone ready, took Ellie to school, bought tires, went home, had breakfast, nursed Frisco and put him down for a nap, called the attorney while sweeping the floor, went back to get the tires put on, talked to the daycare about Frisco and had lunch while waiting for the tires, came home, put Frisco down for another nap, and sat down here. It's 2:30 and I hve to leave in an hour to get Ellie. I should spend the next half hour prepping dinner and emptying the dishwasher. When I get home, it will be finish dinner, eat dinner, wash dishes, walk dogs, bathe Frisco, put him to sleep, bathe Ellie, put her to bed, and go to sleep.
