I can't believe this. Actually, that's not accurate. I can totally see Haggard as gay. There was a period when we lived in Colorado that I didn't want to go to our Anglican church anymore. Since New Life (Haggard's church) was just down the street, I decided to try it. The music was really great, but I couldn't stand Haggard's sermons. I went twice and decided I'd rather just be churchless for a while.
The thing about him that bugged me the most at the time was that he spent most of his time talking about how Bush invited him to the White House for the signing of the partial-birth abortion ban. I wasn't as anti-Bush as now at the time, but he just seemed to be name-dropping and it really rubbed me wrong. I don't remember other details, but the sermon was basically "look at all the great things I'm doing" which is so anti-the whole point of Christianity.
