1. Wake up at 5:30am with both Frisco and Ellie. We head downstairs so Joe can get some sleep.

2. Frisco doesn't want to be put down at all so I put him in the pouch and start making breakfast. I get Ellie Rice Krispies and start making hot cereal for Joe and myself. I notice that the cereal has cobwebs in it and I'm trying to figure out if I should toss it when, while making her elephant "dance", Ellie spills milk and Rice Krispies all over the table and floor. As I'm cleaning that up, I realize that Frisco has pooped through his diaper, onesie, pants, pouch, and my shirt.

3. As I'm walking upstairs, I tell Joe I need help downstairs. I change Frisco and nurse him back to sleep. As I"m doing this, Ellie comes upstairs and tells me that she has pooped in her panties and wants me to change her. I ask her to ask her dad but she refuses. I put Frisco in his swing and change her.

4. Fast forward to this afternoon. I made lasagna for dinner tonight because friends were supposed to come over. Joe went to the store and got salad stuff and fresh bread. When the friends were an hour late, I call them and realize that they have totally forgotten. I know it was a genuine mistake, but, dude, I made dinner. WIth a lasagna for them to take home! Anyway, I'm just bummed out. What a crappy day.

5. As I've been typing this, Ellie has gotten bath paint all over the outside of the tub so I guess I'd better go clean that up.

6. eta: I almost forgot. When getting up from her nap this afternoon, Ellie peed on the bed. So now I have to go remake the bed.

Thanks! I really feel like drinking or crying but will probably just go to sleep as anything else takes too much energy. Usually kid overload makes me seethe but today I just feel like quitting.

It is a good thing they are so cute. Joe was just making Frisco laugh so hard and his laugh makes it hard for me to stay down. Hearing my kids laugh really is the best antidote to sadness for me.

Oh, honey.

And it's so true about the cute thing. I'm sure it's even more potent with your own kids, but I feel the same way at after care. And the laughing! Definitely.

Hang in there.

Literally, a crappy day (see #s 2, 3). No wonder you are pissy (see # 6).

Yeah, it was parenthood that made me realize that "crap" and "pissy" aren't just always figures of speech.

Yeah, it got better just before bed watching Joe make Frisco laugh but I'm still glad it's the next day.
