The Way Life Works
Feb. 21st, 2008 07:22 amI woke up around 3:45 to Frisco crying and I took him in the other room to change and nurse him. HE fell asleep in my arms, but I fell asleep too, until maybe 4:30. I decided to lay him down and try to sleep in bed for another house but, of course, he woke up maybe 15 minutes after I laid him down. I didn't get to him in time so Ellie then woke up and pitched a fit because I couldn't lay down with her. To keep things calm, I stayed in the room with her, instead of just leaving, but she had no desire to go back to sleep. I tried to nurse, Frisco, put him in the swing, walk with him, and rock him, but nothing was making him sleepy so I gave up and took both kids in the other room and we watched an episode of Little Einsteins.
Around 5:45, because I needed two free hands, I put Frisco down in the swing, knowing he would fuss, but I had no choice. He promptly fell asleep. Wonderful - too bad it wasn't an hour go, but still great. I got Ellie ready and myself ready and then Joe volunteered to take Ellie to school. So, off they went. He just called me to tell me that she fell asleep in the car. So, no one wanted to sleep at 5 am but then are both sleeping now!
Lucky me, I can take a nap (is it really a nap if it's not even 7:30 yet) but Joe has to go to work.
