Remember the neck ache/random fever from the Wednesday night? Well, Ellie's preschool called me yesterday afternoon to tell me that when she woke up from her nap, her lip was swollen. When I picked her up, I could hardly see it and I assumed she had bumped it during the day (although she said she hadn't). Well, by dinner time, it was more noticeable and by bedtime, it was big. Weird, though, because there was/is no redness, not bit mark, no discoloration, no bruising, nothing. I took her temp because she felt hot - 99.5, which was hotter than Wednesday night.
Since there was nothing we could do that late, I gave her Tylenol and put her to sleep. Well, this morning her lip is huge. She looks like one of those Simpsons characters with a big overbite but it's all swollen lip. It's on the opposite side where she had her tooth pulled but I'm afraid she has some sort of abscess way high up, maybe in a permanent tooth. We will go to the doctor this morning (the dentist *always* ignores us on Saturdays and I'm tired of my child being brushed off because it's inconvenient, plus I'm not even sure it's dental).
