I've been reading, and enjoying, Vampire People while waiting for my doctor appointments.  It's about the only time I get time alone to read in peace.  Anyway, Allyson's comment about Jack and Ennis curled up by the fire on their ranch has totally stuck with me.  I mean, I love the story the way it is, but I love the idea of a happy ending too.  

Before I ran across Buffy fanfic, it had never occurred to me that people would write their own stories about other people's characters.  Maybe Shakespeare secretly ran after Viola when he was done writing all his plays.  Perhaps someone can really tell us how Snape was as a headmaster.  I don't know why my brain never works that way, but I've always just sort of stuck with the story I was told.  It's fun to think about the other possibilities (including, but not limited to, the porny ones).
