Five Favorite Movies
May. 14th, 2009 09:11 amQuite often in the middle of the night, I will wake up just slightly because Frisco wants to nurse. I'd be able to fall right back asleep but I usually have to pee by that point. But if I get up, he will wake up, which is bad. So, last night, while trying to take my mind off how much I needed to pee, I started thinking about my favorite movies ever:
1. Shakespeare In Love - in many ways, this the story of Joe and me, except that neither of us has Shakespeare's abilities, there was no queen and we decided that happiness was more important than propriety.
2. Real Genius - I loved this movie and took college physics because of it. The physics didn't last more than a semester but I've always loved the movie.
3. The Thomas Crowne Affair - I know the Pierce Brosnan one was a remake but I think he is one of the sexiest men ever and this movie is a perfect example. Plus, I love caper movies and this was a great one.
4. Love, Actually - okay, I don't know if this is a "great" movie but I could watch it happily every Christmas. It's fun and happy (mostly) and Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant, oh, and Liam Neeson are all lots of fun.
5. Brokeback Mountain - I think I was maybe the last person in the world to see this movie, but it was just a perfect movie. I don't know why it grabbed me so hard - I have a very soft spot for movies where life gets in the way of love. But this movie was just beautiful.
