It's been forever since I updated my journal. Or maybe it hasn't been that long, but a lot of stuff has happened.

Last weekend, I graduated from law school I went back to Denver and had a great time with friends and family.

My mom arrived here in NC on Friday. It is so wonderful having her here. I love having the company - that has been fantastic. However, my mom has been more than just fantastic. She has been cooking all the meals for me. It's been wonderful because she is a great cook, but also because it really frees me up. Instead of studying and living taking up all day, I just study and she does the rest. Today, she cleaned my entire house. It needed it and it's been a while since I could really bend down and get the lower-level places. My bathroom is spotless, my bed has clean sheets and the carpet is vacuumed. I can't get over how happy this all makes me.

I caught a really bad cold yesterday and today it tried to kill me. I'm feeling better now, but I must have sneezed 100 times today. Not fun when you are 38 weeks pregnant. Being so sick made concentrating on my bar studying very difficult and made the whole day miserable. But, I wasn't nearly as miserable as I normally would have been because I didn't spend the whole day alone.

I doubt I will be at b.org or updating my journal as much as normal in the next few weeks. When I'm not studying for the bar, I have an actual live person in the house to talk to.

Wow! You're 38 weeks already?

You're as pregnant as I've ever been!

Technically, Wednesday is 38 weeks, so I'm fudging a little. I don't think I'm anywhere near labor, so I think it's still going to be a while.

You can never tell, particularly with the first one. A lot of times, everything happens all at once.

I can't believe you're at ~38 weeks. You're in the home stretch, girl. I'm glad you're getting some company, and some TLC. You work so hard.

Thanks...It's been so much easier to work with my mom around. It's just nice to have company.

Yay for company - it sounds like your mother knows exactly what you need right now, too, which is great.

All kinds of smooth sailing vibes to you (and DH, of course) - baby, bar, everything... just getting that in now since you're going grey-ish for a while.

Good to hear from you. It sounds like you are doing so well!

Would you like to send your mother to clean my house? My mother is coming here next week, but somehow she never cleans...

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky. It's funny - normally I'd feel really awkward with her doing all this, but it's so nice ot be taken care of (and I've been so tired) that I'm just giving in and graciously accepting help.

Oh, you! It's so good to hear from you! I'm so glad your mom is there and is being such a great help. I had been a little worried about you with all the studying and trying to live and stuff. Sounds like things are a little easier, plus more enjoyable with a live person around and everything.

Good luck! And I hope the cold doesn't last long.

Thanks! I'm feeling so much better today. Still very congested, but since I'm not sneezing every 10 seconds, I feel much more human.

Your mom sounds wonderful. It sounds like just what you need right now -- it's amazing how much peace of mind you can get from clean floors and some not-cooked-by-you meals.

And 38 weeks! Wheeee! Be sure to put those feet up and get as much rest as you can when you're not studying.

Just having someone else take the time to prepare a hot meal for you is amazing. I know how to cook, but there's almost no point in doing it just for myself.

As for rest, I can't believe how much I've gotten. I've been sleeping about 8-9 hours a night, but since it's never totally restful sleep (with all the sches and bathrooms trips), I end up taking about a 2+ hour naps most afternoons. It's a lot of sleep, but it seems like I need it, so I've just sort of gone with it.
