a little green

Neighbors and friends of mine just found a buyer for their house. Their house was on the market for one week! I'm very very happy for them, it's a beautiful house/lot, and it is worth almost twice ours so it's not like we were competing. Still, I'm just a tad bit jealous.
We live on a golf course. The potential buyers called and made an offer while out golfing. When it was accepted (full price, cash!) they played another hole and then dropped in at the house in question to sign the contract, have a glass of wine, and then went on their merry way to finish the round of golf. I want that story. But, I doubt it will happen that way - I think they are all operating in a different league than we are.
eta: I forgot to mention this, I think. Our house is now officially on the market and has been since Saturday. There is still no sign out front but that's currently being worked on. The house is listed on MLS, but I am doing all the work. it worked for us in COlorado and saved us thousands so I'm going to try again. If the house isn't sold by may 1st, I will bite the bullet and contact an agent. In the mean time, the house is also listed on a site that caters to military people. I've had one phone call and three e-mails, but no one has been to see the house yet. I alternate between being really stressed (that yard doesn't look good enough/there are too many baby toys on the floor/etc.) and feeling calm that it will all work out somehow. Unless we get a great offer, it looks like we will have the movers come around May 1st and leave for PR by May 25th or so. I have no idea what we will do for 24 days without stuff, but I'll figure that out closer to the actual date. Moving is always a test of my ability to stay fluid.
