Phase 1 - Car
*drop off Honda in Charleston on Monday, May 1st. We will need 5 copies of orders. Car must be clean with 1/4 tank gas. Still need to figure out exactly where in Charleston we will be leaving the car.
Phase 2 - Hold Baggage
*Movers coming on Thursday or Friday (need to find out which). They will take 750 lbs, but no furniture. So, I need to find and collect in one place:
*TV from upstairs (w/remote)
*air mattresses w/pump
*sheets/towels
*clothes for Ellie, Joe and myself
*To do this properly, I really need to figure out what will be in our suitcases first.
Phase 3 - Ship Dogs
*Right now, the dogs are set to leave on May 17th. I need to finalize requirements and costs with American Airlines.
*Dogs will need to have a veterinary inspection on the 16th. I need to make that appointment.
*I'm not thrilled about having the dogs stay with the guy in PR for 2-3 weeks, which is what it looks like right now. The alternative is to have them stay with us until around May 23rd or so. The down side of that is that they will be here when the movers come, always a pain for everyone.
Phase 4 - The Movers
*Not much to do here except be here for 4 days. I need to check if they really need 4 days - seems like a lot.
*The main thing here is to have our suitcases already packed and set aside somewhere.
Phase 5 - The Flight
*Need Joe to arrange exactly what flight we will be taking, although it definitely will be May 31st. Also, who will be taking us to the airport? Since we won't have the dogs, we should fit in a truck or large SUV.
*Ellie's items
Stroller
Suitcase (1)
Diaper bag
(Does car seat count as an item if she has her own seat?)
*Steph's items
Clothes (2)
Backpack w/laptop
Sheets/towels/clothes hamper for when we arrive (3)
(air mattresses? maybe we can borrow from friends and send ours ahead)
*Joe's items
Garment bag with uniforms (4)
Clothes (5)
Backpack
*At the moment it looks like we have one extra suitcase so that may come in handy.
Two additional things to keep in mind. Ellie and I will be visiting my parents in the middle of all this. I still need to make arrangements for the dogs while we are gone. I think the stuff we pack to take with us will be the same stuff we would want to take to Puerto Rico. Also, Ellie's birthday party will be on the 20th, so I need to set that stuff aside as well.
