Faux Poll

So, I tried making this into a poll but it keeps disappearing and I don't care enough to spend more time on it.  Anyway, our house is cluttered at hte moment and it's driving me crazy.  It is, for me, by far, the hardest thing about being a parent or living with others.  If I could get rid of the clutter, I think I would be about 100% happier at least.  Anyway, I cannot relax in the house when it is cluttered.  Joe, otoh, cannot relax in the house when it is dirty.  Dirt doesn't bug me that much and Joe can walk around clutter for weeks.  Months, actually.  So, I'm curious - what bothers you more, dirt or clutter?  Or both?  Or neither?

Joe is gone this week until Friday.  Ellie is watching The Incredibles (it's raining outside, again), Frisco is sleeping, and I'm trying to get all the clutter put away by the end of the week.

I have a decent tolerance for dirt, though I think it's more socially shameful than clutter. But clutter bothers me more for myself; I find it mentally disruptive and stressful. I am constantly hustling children's toys into baskets for my own sanity.

This is exactly me. The only dirt in this house that bugs me is the floors. They are white tile and because they look cluttered when dirty, I think, I cna't relax when they are dirty. Dust, messy windows, and so on do not bother me at all.

Clutter definitely bothers me more (and I live alone so, except for some stuff i'm storing for others in the basement, it's all my crap). At any rate, i don't feel like I can effectively clean if it's too cluttered.

Joe is a much better cleaner than I am (I think it's the Army training) but he can clean around the clutter which does not work for me.

BOTH!!!! The clutter just rubs me the wrong way. I have to make up the bed before I can get in it at night if I don't do it when I get up in the morning. It's like I can't get comfortable in the middle of clutter. Dirt bugs me I think mostly because I have kids. I can ignore it out of exhaustion for a day or two but I have to get to it after that. I dn't want the kid(s) getting into the dirt and getting sick or making it worse.

I basically view them as the same thing though.
