So other than a) everyone else is doing it and b) I must be missing out on something cool, why is this Dreamwidth thing so cool/worth joining?  I must admit that I don't get it, but I haven't tried it yet, so, fill me in?

I don't know what the big deal is either but apparently it's been plan B for people in case LJ goes down.
