Frisco's broken arm
Sep. 17th, 2009 12:15 pmSo, Ellie got to go to school at 8 this morning because Frisco broke his arm last night. We were at church last night and Frisco fell off a maybe 2ft high stage. I could tell immediately that this was a more-serious-than-normal fall and he kept holding his arm and crying even after he had calmed down. He was quiet int he car ride to the hospital and took a long nap while waiting for x-ray. Eventually, but only two hours after we got there, they came and told us that Frisco had a broken thumb. That turned out to be a mistake - the break was a bit down on his radius. They put a splint on it and sent us home.
This morning, we went to see the orthopedic surgeon. He described the break as more of a buckle - like taking a very green tree branch and trying to break it and that's exactly what the x-ray looked like. Because he's so young, and was doing fine, the doctor said Frisco just needed a splint and not a full up to the shoulder, hard cast. So, that's what we got. He's upstairs now napping and seems to be just fine.
