Rainy Days

Last night, we went to see Sky Captain. It was so much fun. I know the story was a little lame, but stylistically, the movie was beautiful. I've never found Jude Law very interesting, but I thought he was great in this movie. I loved all the little homages to past movies, particularly the Wizard of Oz.

J left home this morning at 2:00 for some post-Jessica Lynch army training weekend. (After the whole JL thing, the Army decided that everyone, not just the combat guys, needs to practice firing their weapon with real bullets at targets beyond just your regular qualification-type shooting range.) I think he's coming back on Monday (after he then works a full day).

Although I'm bummed he won't be here this weekend, I'm sort of looking forward to all the time by myself. Living away from him for a year sort of got me used to that. I should be doing homework, but I'm thinking about spending the morning just curled up on the couch. It's a rainy day outside, but I have buttermilk to make waffles and 3 more
Angel DVDs to watch. I'm actually happy for the rain. Although we've had plenty of it, I love the cozy, curl-up-with-a-blanket feeling.

I thought we were going to get drowned by Ivan, but so far, nothing more than a few hard rain squalls. I saw that the NC mountains got drenched, but I guess we were just on the edge.

Well, I guess the waffles won't make themselves......
