It's 4:30 am here in the mountains. I'm awake because this is about when I wake up at home. Ellie and I arrived at my parents' house last night. Overall Ellie did really well on the trip. I felt like a pack mule lugging all out stuff into the airport but once we got inside it was fine. On the first flight, Ellie was a bit unhappy but when we got off she had made friends with everyone around us so I guess it was fine. On our second flight, she slept half the time and played with a bag a pretzels for the second hour. Yesterday was one of those days that I was so glad she is still nursing. She just slept so peacefully in my arms. And, she looked super cute! It's way more fun dressing her in cute clothes when I know people will see her all day. I think I looked cute too, but no one commented on that. I was mostly very happy with my clothes - I had just bought a nursing shirt that a) looks really cute and b) is perfect for nursing in a place where you are, say, surrounded my middle aged men. Actually, on both flights then men next to me said very positive things about nursing so that made me relax a lot.
It's great to be here in the mountains. I just hope it snows so Ellie can see snow before we leave the States.
(Oh, and Joe's trip to PR is going great. His future people are helping him secure the best house possible on the base and it sounds like everything there is very nice. Scuba shop is just down the street. Hmm, maybe I don't want that job after all.)
