Ants, Mosquitos, and Mimas

I have a red welt the size of my hand on my ass. (I know - this sounds interesting, but really it's pretty mundane.) I got bit my fire ants yesterday and while I got bit five times, two of the bites have joined together to cause this giant red welt. I am also covered with bites from "mimas". That's the Puerto Rican name for them, but I think they are the same as no-see-ums. Anyway, they itch like crazy, as do the ant bites. I also got bit by mosquitos, but those are nothing compared to the others.

Despite my current horrible itchiness, none of it was that bad yesterday (when I got all these bug bites). We spent the day on this little tiny island south of Puerto Rico. Joe and his office had a meeting on the beach and then afterwards, we grilled and swam and hung out. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, and the water was very refreshing.

Oh, and before I forget, Ellie seems to be adjusting just fine to daycare. Yes, she cries a lot when I leave, but the teachers say she eventually stops. She was even napping when we picked her up on Wednesday and I thought it would take longer than that to get her to nap. Also, the director was aware of the bully situation. Apparently, he bit on kid on Wednesday, so my input was appreciated, but also not news to them. They seem to be doing everything I might have asked, so I'll wait and see how things go.
