Feeling Pleased

Today is one of those days where I feel like I have been extremely effective. My mom and I took the kids to school/daycare this morning and then came back home and started cleaning. My mom cleaned our bathroom from top to bottom while I sorted, organized, and put away the toys that won't fit in the toy area. The entire house, except for the kitchen/dining area is clean and picked up and we will tackle the kitchen area tomorrow. I also mailed several packages today (including one to casperflea ) so I was able to get several piles out of the house. I also listed several baby items on our local equivalent of craigslist so hopefully I'll her about some of that stuff soon.

Today, after cleaning, we went to see Bodies...the Exhibition.  It was really cool and I didn't think it was gruesome at all.  The baby/fetus section bothered me a bit.  They had a baby with spina bifida and a cleft palate and I have to admit they were very interesting, although they looked so real that the mom in me wanted to pick them up and wrap them in a blanket.  The fetuses were fascinating - you could see these teeny tiny fingers and toes - even at 12 weeks.  (Which I knew but it was really neat to see).  The birth edcator in me enjoyed seeing the female anatomy.  You could really get why a pregnant woman has to pee all the time.  There were some fascinating diseased organs (and a teratoma), including the lungs of a few smokers.  I've never smoked but they had a container of tossed cigarettes next to the black lungs and I can see why because it was really gross.

Tomorrow, I'm taking the kids to school again for a few hours while we finish the house and do a bit of shopping.  They will be home with my mom and me on Wednesday, her last day.  I'm already dreading her leaving - back to regular life.  I hope we get orders soon so we have something exciting to look forward too.
