Dances WIth Wolves
Jan. 4th, 2009 04:45 pmI'd never seen the movie before but Joe had been wanting to see it so I bought him the DVD and we started watching it a few days ago. We skipped a few early gory parts and Ellie was totally loving it.
SPOILER COMING:
Then, my mom, in what she says was an effort to protect Ellie, tells me "they kill the wolf. And the horse. It's really sad so don't let Ellie see it."
WTF, mom? I mean, I get her concern, but she totally ruined the movie for me. I *hate* sad movies, especially those that have dead/dying animals (or kids) and I rarely set out to see them. I probably would have enjoyed the movie if I hadn't known it was coming (although I guess it's not a huge surprise) but now I just can't get back into it.
