I am having a good day
Oct. 30th, 2009 01:28 pmFinally, right?
1. I went to pick up my office mail today and handled a few things that came in. I've been feeling very unlegal since Frisco got sick so it was nice to do some law stuff.
2. I'm going to volunteer my time/service with ACS - the Army organization that handles, among other things, soldiers' immigration issues. I also did some cool networking that, again, made me feel all legal.
3. I got the results for the radon test for our new house - not good. It's about 4 times the allowable limit. I don't know if the sellers will want to make all the improvements needed (the roof may also need work), but I'm really at peace about it. If they fix the stuff, great. If not, then it's not the house for us. (No way I'm spending all that money on a house with major roof problems and radon.)
4. I got our my Kindle and downloaded a book last night. (The Fourth Star. I forget the author's name but I heard him on Fresh Air. Turns out one of the four generals profiled is someone I know (not well) and used to work for. In fact, it was my good relationship with him that got Joe a job many years ago at Ft. Lewis.) I'm really enjoying reading the book and I'm scheduling an hour at a coffee ship just to read this afternoon before I get the kids.
