That phrase popped into my head last night as I was trying to find a comfortable way to sleep.

So far, Ellie is a pretty easy baby. She hardly fusses and has been sleeping in 4-5 hour stretches at night. I stay up with her until around midnight (and doze when she sleeps) and then Joe has been taking her from around 4-5 am until I get up again. So far, it seems to work well. I catch up on my FL and b.org at night while I'm waiting for her to be truly asleep enough to lay in her bassinet.

She lifted her head up this morning as I was burping her. Of course, it got a big reaction out of me. She seems to be eating well and nursing is going okay, despite the pain. Also, yesterday we finally found a baby sack that was only semi-huge on her. so she now has graduated to clothes.

Oh God, those first days are so wonderful. In a totally sleep-deprived and painful way, I know, but wonderful. Just getting to know these little tiny people is so fascinating.

The Giant Boobs of Pain should ease up a little bit now that you're nursing regularly.

So glad Joe is home and in love with his daughter and you're getting to spend this little honeymoon period together. It rocks.

My mother has this whole metaphor about how when the milk comes in the elves are building the factory and there's a lot of commotion and construction debris, but once the factory is up an running it gets much calmer and quieter ... yeah, it made no sense to me either. Giant Boobs of Pain it is. For me 5 days was about the worst, so it should be better soon.

I had major trouble breastfeeding Jo, because it turned out I never did produce more than about 50mg total per feeding, no matter what, but those first few days? Brilliant.

Then, after about a week, everytime she clamped on to a nipple, I thought I was going to go through the damned ceiling.

And sweetie, HUGE congratulations. YAYAYAYAYAY for Ellie! Pictures?

It took Lily a month to fit anything other than Onesies. All those swaddlers and sleep sacks and nothing fit! Good luck with clothing the wee girl, and remember, things will fit eventually!

Awwww...poor boobies! I'm glad she's doing so well, though. And go Joe letting you sleep in the morning.

I am so glad that you all are doing so well. It was great to talk to both of you. The pictures are beautiful, congratulation again.
I sent her a present, please let me know when you get it, it might look too big but is for the winter and since she has two parents who are tall I think it would fit her well. Love, Edy and Sebastián
