I was sitting with my new friends at my new law school today and, as it commonly does with 3rd year law students, the conversation worked its way to jobs. they all have "offers" from "firms", and I do not.
Now, I know why I do not. I moved this summer and any connections/past work experience I had is back in Denver and I am not. Nor will I go back there anytime soon. I've lived here for 2 months and of course I don't have a job lined up because I just got here. Still, it makes me feel like I'm not doing well.
It's so frustrating because Joe's army career prevents both of us from doing so many other things we might want to do. Until now, the benefits have always outweighed the costs and besides, he loved what he was doing. But now, his job is preventing me from even trying to get many jobs that I might like. If he liked his job, I'd be okay with that, but he doens't.
I guess I just want to know that I will be a good lawyer and that someone will want me to work for them. I want to know that the $70K+ that I have spent on this education will be actually worth something when I graduate next May.
