The ligament that holds my pubic bone together has been aching since last January. It's been mostly better since the fall, but I started running last month. Apparently it hasn't totally tightened back up. I can't feel it while I'm running, but the morning afterwards, I waking up with it aching. I really need to sleep flat on my back, but I often fall asleep while nursing and then I wake up later having slept on my side for a while.

The easy answer is to stop running, but I don't want to accept that. I am a *runner*. It's what I do. I've been running since I was about 14. This week, I'm trying walk a day, run a day. Yesterday was a run day, so I woke up achy this morning. I want my old body back please.

Oh, and the power went out this morning around 4:30, came back on around 5:45 and just went out again, so I guess I won't be posting for a while.

Just remember it can take a long while before you feel like you again! It can take a year for your body to "recover" completely--and even then, you're never going to get your "old" body back the way it was.

Of course, when you've gotten back into the swing of running, you'll feel great, but it may take a little more time than you were anticipating.

Yeah, I had always heard "6 weeks" and just assumed I'd feel fine after that. I know I am making progress, but I could definitely work on patience.

I felt my body was in a stable "normal" place after about 18 months, but some parts of it will never be the same. Happily my public symphysis has behaved itself!

Take it slow; it will come.
