Trip

Joe left today for Puerto Rico. He will be in San Juan until Friday. Ellie and I are leaving for New Mexico tomorrow and will be visiting my parents until next Tuesday. I'm really looking forward to getting there and hanging out with my parents. They are always so happy to see Ellie and I almost end up missing her. This is just fine, though, because it's nice to have a break.

I will be holding Ellie on my lap. I sort of regret that decision at the moment but she wouldn't sit in a seat anyway so whatever. I've got one suitcase right now that has all her clothes, my clothes, and her basic baby stuff. I have her diaper bag packed with snacks, toys, diapers, and the sling for tomorrow. My second "bag" will be her car seat. This means that I currently have no room for my shoes, my computer, or my toiletries. I think this all means that I will have to take a rollerbag carry on. I don't want a second carry on but I don't want to check my laptop and I don't think I can fit everything into one suitcase. So, I guess I'll be carrying a baby, a diaper bag, and a roller bag through the airport.

Ugh. It's really hard traveling with a baby. I can't imagine trying to do it alone. Good luck! But, have a wonderful time with your parents.

Thanks! I think I have a plan, ut I'll be tired by the time I arrive. How are you feeling? Any better? Maybe you are working on a post of your own, but I hope you are feeling better soon.

Strap baby to chest in Bjorn, strap diaper bag to rollerbag and wheel. Should be reasonable, and I wish you nice security check people who will whisk you to the VIP line (this has happened to me with a baby!).
