Anyone here use cloth wipes?  I recently got a few thrown in when I bought some diapers.  They look really nice and I'd like to start using them, but I need some sort of solution to spray on them.  I know [personal profile] minim_calibre  once told me what she used but I can't remember what it was.  I also need to get some cloth diaper friendly soap now that I'm back in the US.  So, I'm open to any suggestions.

we've used cloth wipes since we brought Mathilda home from the hospital. We fold them into an old disposeable wipe box and get them wet. the :solution" I use is just water with a couple of drops of baby wash (we use burt's bees) and a couple of drops of oil (we use burt's bees apricot oil but I've used olive oil and baby oil and they work ok too). I make the solution in a big 1L nalgene and use about half to wet all the wipes in the box. hope this helps!

That's a great idea. I will maybe try to find that stuff this weekend. I don't know why I've never used cloth wipes before. I mean, I have to by the disposables for daycare, but after 4.5 years of cloth diapers, I'm just now trying the wipes.

I use water and a few spritzes of California Baby diaper area wash in the wipes tub (I use a snap-lock food container, it's a great size and 10 month old proof!).

What kind of soap do you thimk you want to use? Like easy to find at the commissary? Country Save, Arm & Hammer for Sensitive Skin and Planet are my top recommendations (the first two are usually in the laundry aisle at the commissary everywhere I've been). Depending on where we lived, different ones of those worked best for us. It's so variable based on your local water.

I saved my peri bottle but they also sell small squirt bottles in the travel size toiletry section at the PX to hold my solution which is mainly water with a squirt of baby wash and a splash of olive oil. I think the actual recipe was 8 oz water, 1 tbsp baby wash, and one tbsp olive oil, but I am too lazy to measure. Sometimes I get fancy and put in a bit of lavendar or tea tree oil.

For laundry I use the Kirkland Signature Free and Clear from Costco. I know it isn't one of the recommended ones, but it is cheap and it works for us.
