That is me, now. I am a Stay At Home Mom.

I would have never predicted that this would be me. In fact, all things being equal, I'm not sure I would be. I *loved* law school and I was very excited about starting to practice. I've always known that Joe's army career would make it difficult for me, but I managed to finish school and I always figured that I would make work work as well.

Right now, there is no point even looking for a job because we will be moving in less than 6 months. Once we get settled in Puerto Rico, I plan to look for a job. Ellie will be a year old by then.

Regardless of my future desire for employment (and likely need to pay student loans), I'm enjoying my time home with Ellie right now. Not having to worry about school/the bar/whatever has really allowed me to relax and be patient with her. If she naps, fine. If not, no problem. I love breast feeding (something I also can't explain.) It's so nice for me to be able to adjust to her schedule. I really enjoy doing things for her and this has surprised me. I'm not the most giving person, but it's not work with Ellie. It's funny that I've heard my friends with kids say this stuff for years, but I finally get it now.

It goes by so fast, too. When a parent is at all inclined to be a stay-at-home parent, and when it is at least financially possible, I always encourage it. You'll never have these days again. Cherish them all.

You totally think I suck, don't you. Heh.

I'm guessing that was a response to Cindy, but since it showed up in my inbox, I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that I certainly don't think you suck. :)

Anyway, from what I've read, you are probably the sort of mom I need to lean towards being. I'm sort of a control freak and I can very easily see myself standing over Ellie with a book, trying to make her do stuff.

LOL - remind me of this conversation in the future if I ever complain about Ellie not doing stuff.

I have the film. I got it on the internets. No gag reflex, huh?

You're an enormous goober, by the way. If I win the lottery and give you half, AND you're inclined to stay home with Em, but then don't? Then I will think you suck.
