I think House is my new favorite show. Or close to favorite. I like it a lot. The show itself is sort of formulaic, but the character of House is so interesting that I look forward to watching.

I have some questions...

Why does he have a cane? Is it House or the actor?

What's his past relationship with the lawyer? Were they married?

Was he also involved with the cute doctor who works for him?

Anything else I should know?

Yeah, I've gottent he impression from my flist that the actor was British, but thanks for confirming that. I've been meaning to IMDB him because it seems like I should know more about him, but I haven't yet.

Watch him in anything. Seriously. Once you've seen Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster, seeing him play House is all the more fun.

Hugh Laurie doesn't have a cane, but he's an utterly wonderful comedic actor, which does cause some of us a little bit of a brain break seeing him in a Serious Dramatic Role and with an American accent, no less.

If you watch Jeeves and Wooster, Black Adder III, or Black Adder Goes Forth, you too can suffer from the mind boggle.

I'll have to check these out. I can sort of tell from his facial expressions in House that HL might be good at comedy, but it is difficult to imagine.

To give you an idea, my mental image of Hugh Laurie is usually this, this, or this.

House being this complete genius makes it all the more amusing, because the most memorable characters he's played in the past have all been quite, quite dim.
